1 Hotels has announced that it is now accepting reservations for its latest property, 1 Hotel Melbourne, set to launch in June 2025. This marks the brand’s first venture into the Australian market, bringing its blend of sustainable luxury and nature-inspired design to Melbourne’s heart. The hotel is a collaboration with industry-leading developer Riverlee.
Located on the southwestern edge of Melbourne’s Central Business District, 1 Hotel Melbourne offers prime access to various city attractions, including Marvel Stadium, the Royal Botanic Gardens, top shopping districts, and world-class theaters. The hotel is also adjacent to a 3,500-square-meter native-planted park and offers direct access to Melbourne’s serene riverfront and an extensive network of walking and biking paths.
The hotel features a striking design focused on sustainability. Its façade features floor-to-ceiling windows and over 2,000 living plants throughout the property, blurring the line between indoors and out. The design also emphasizes adaptive reuse and circular economy principles, using reclaimed timber furnishings and restored elements.
The property is on track to achieve LEED Silver certification, prioritizing recycled and reclaimed materials throughout its design. As part of the development, 1 Hotel Melbourne includes 114 exclusive 1 Homes residences, integrating sustainable luxury into private living spaces.
The hotel offers 277 guest rooms, including 36 suites designed as a peaceful sanctuary merging natural beauty with modern comforts. Amenities include energy-efficient smart thermostats, low-VOC materials, and collaborations with local artists.
Guests can also enjoy dining at the hotel’s signature restaurant, which will offer menus showcasing fresh seasonal produce sourced from local farmers, fishers, and artisans. A grab-and-go café and a lobby bar are also available.
The hotel also provides wellness and fitness facilities, including a state-of-the-art fitness center, an indoor pool, sauna, steam room, and a spa.
